The Oregon Coast is becoming a very popular destination for wildlife explorers and birders drawn to the awesome beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the exceptional bird species inhabiting the region. The milder temperatures of the coastal climate foster an abundance of wildlife intertwined together creating a multitude of food chains supporting a large variety of bird species. Also, the numerous different geographic settings found along the coast support many thriving habitat areas, whether along the coastline or inland amongst rivers and estuarine bays, lakes and wetland areas, coastal forests and other open spaces. Oregon Coast Birding allows the opportunity to enjoy bird species unique to the region as well as the chance to observe migratory species utilizing the area during part of their annual migrations in between their feeding and breeding grounds.
