The Central Oregon Coast features two outstanding areas for exploring tide pools with large marine gardens present, the first known as the Otter Rock Marine Gardens and the second known as the Seal Rock Marine Gardens. Both of these marine gardens are surrounded by pristine beaches further adding to their scenic qualities and improving access to their tide pool areas during low tides. The Otter Rock Marine Gardens are situated in the Town of Otter Rock along a beach strand found just north of the Devils Punchbowl Rock Formation. The Seal Rock Marine Gardens are located at the Seal Rock State Recreation Site featuring amazing wildlife displays during minus tides with the striking rock formations of Seal Rocks and Elephant Rock surrounding the marine gardens.
