Oregon Coast Tide Pool Locations - Cape Perpetua Scenic Area

The coastlines of South Lincoln County feature sections of ancient lava flows meeting the onrush of the tidal seas creating ideal areas for tide pools to form and flourish. One of the most beautiful park settings found within the Central Oregon Coast is the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. The Cape Perpetua Scenic Area is located a few miles south of the City of Yachats and is part of the Siuslaw National Forest. The Cape Perpetua Scenic Area offers an exciting assortment of outdoor activities highlighted by its fabulous tide pool areas situated on the western edge of the park grounds. The park facilities include an extensive nature trail system designed to explore the 2,700 acres contained within the park’s domain including its pristine tide pools. Also, the Visitor Center offers exhibits and videos covering Oregon Coast Wildlife plus provides guided tours of its local tide pools as well. The Captain Cook Trail heads from the Visitor Center westward out to the shoreline section just south of Good Fortune Cove, providing access to the best tide pool areas of the park.
