The Whale Watching Center in Depoe Bay

The Whale Watching Center features a fabulous set of interpretive educational displays, indoor wildlife viewing stations equipped with binoculars, and coastal-themed merchandise available for sale for enhancing one’s visit to the Center. The park facility features two main levels for visitor interaction plus public restrooms found on the basement level of the building. On the main level, the park facility offers a variety of educational avenues for learning more about gray whales, seals and sea lions, and other marine mammals through interpretive exhibits and on-site park rangers. The main level has a small amphitheater area set up with bench seating showing videos about gray whales and other Oregon Coast Wildlife. Also, the Center posts information daily about whale sightings in the area together with offering two indoor whale watching stations, one on the main level and the other located on the second level of the building. On-site rangers, specially trained on Oregon Coast Wildlife including marine mammals are available for assisting visitors in finding gray whales in the waters of Depoe Bay as well as answering any wildlife related questions. Also, the Center provides a self guided tour presenting additional information on whales.
