A recent addition to the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department, the Whale Watching Center located in the downtown section of the City of Depoe Bay offers the visitor with the chance to learn more about marine mammals and other wildlife living along the Oregon Coast. The Whale Watching Center is found on the south end of the popular seawall built overlooking the ocean as well as being situated just north of the channel entrance leading into the Depoe Bay Harbor. The Whale Watching Center includes several wildlife viewpoints set up both outdoors and indoors for observing local wildlife in the area, specifically focusing on gray whale watching activities. The outside viewpoint area overlooks the boating activity coming and going from the inner harbor plus affords nice vantage points of the waters of Depoe Bay where the gray whales are found regularly.
