The North Aerial Guide Overview Tour Four starts at Boiler Bay and the City of Depoe Bay, one of the most picturesque coastal settings located on the Central Oregon Coast. The beautiful stretches of sandy shorelines fronting the Lincoln Beach Area change over dramatically to rugged coastlines of ancient basalt lava flows and multi-colored cliffs of prehistoric sandstone formations lining the Depoe Bay Area. The tour covers the wonderful seaside attractions of the City of Depoe Bay and its charming residential neighborhoods including Northpoint, Downtown/East on Collins, Southpoint and the award winning planned development of Little Whale Cove. The City of Depoe Bay is known as the Whale Watching Capital of the World and its small harbor area supports a number of charter boat operators providing whale watching excursions for observing gray whales in the wild. The famous seawall built overlooking the ocean offers a great place to enjoy the wave action crashing into the craggy shoreline or to take in a fiery evening sunset.
The tour showcases the beautiful setting of Whale Cove and then continues onto the Otter Crest Area featuring the Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoint and the Community of Miroco. The tour heads southward along the cliffs of the Otter Crest Area eventually meeting the promontory of Cape Foulweather, also home to the Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint. The tour concludes at the small town of Otter Rock and highlights the planned developments of the Inn at Otter Crest and the Seacrest Development. Key Points of Interest presented in this tour include Boiler Bay, Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint, Depoe Bay Seawall and Spouting Horn, Depoe Bay Highway 101 Bridge and Harbor Area, Little Whale Cove, Whale Cove, Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoint, Rocky Creek (Ben Jones) Bridge near Miroco, Otter Crest Area Scenic Drive, Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint, Cape Foulweather, Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area, Gull Rock, Otter Rock and Beverly Beach.
