Tour Three Introduction
The North Aerial Guide Overview Tour Three starts at the Community Area of Salishan, one of the nicest resort developments built along the Central Oregon Coast renowned for its outstanding natural surroundings overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Siletz Bay Estuary. The Salishan Area Developments are part of Gleneden Beach, a residential community area established within Lincoln County. The Salishan Area includes several gated residential areas including the Salishan Residential Community, often referred to as the Salishan Leasehold, the Salishan Hills Development, and several condominium developments including the Salishan Bluffs Condominiums and the Island Condominiums at Salishan. Also, the Salishan Area is well-liked for the amenities available at the Salishan Lodge and Spa featuring the Salishan Golf Links, an 18-Hole Championship Style Golf Course, the Spa at Salishan built overlooking the tranquility of the Siletz Bay and the retail shopping mall known as the Shops at Salishan. The tour highlights the wonderful natural settings found around the Salishan Area including the pristine beach strand of the Salishan Spit Area, the Siletz Bay Estuary System and the designated Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge, and the surrounding treed hillsides and emerald green fairways of the area.

The tour then presents the residential neighborhood areas found along the contiguous beach strand extending southward from the tip of the Salishan Spit to the rocky promontory of the Fishing Rock Headland. The tour covers the major residential areas of Gleneden Beach and Lincoln Beach including Coronado Shores, Cavalier Condominiums, Seagrove, Bella Beach, Searidge Condominiums and Pacific Palisades. Continuing southward, the tour reviews the Fishing Rock Area as well as the Fogarty Creek State Recreation Site and its associated picnic grounds and cliff-rimmed beach area. The tour finishes at the Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint, the north entry point into the City of Depoe Bay, and one of the best spots for whale watching from the shoreline. Key Points of Interest showcased in this tour include the Siletz Bay Estuary and River System, the Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Salishan Spit, Siletz Bay State Airport, Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site, Fishing Rock Headland and State Park, Fogarty Creek State Recreation Site, Boiler Bay and the Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint.
