The City of Waldport is located on the waters of the Alsea Bay Estuary including the lower portions of the Alsea River. The Alsea Bay Bridge is an important coastal bridge providing access over the Alsea Bay. The Oregon State Parks Department offers two locations for viewing the bridge construction, one at the north end and the other at the south end of the bridge, contained within the superb facilities of the Alsea Bay Historic Interpretive Center. The Center maintains wonderful exhibits about the history of transportation along the Oregon Coast as well as informative displays concerning the construction of the new Alsea Bay Bridge. The Development of Alsea Highlands is located on the north side of the bridge set on the hillsides overlooking the bay and features magnificent lot locations with awesome vantage points of the bridge and the Alsea Bay Estuary. The Old Town Waldport Community Area contains many of the commercial businesses as well as the facilities of the Port of Alsea. The Port of Alsea offers a launch ramp, boat moorage, Robison Park and its scenic picnic areas along the bay plus clamming and dockside crabbing activities.
