The Development of Makai - The Ona Beach State Park

The southern end of the Community of South Beach encompasses several additional neighborhood areas before meeting the transition point to the Community of Seal Rock. The first area is situated between Lost Creek to the north and Tracy Creek to the south, and consists of a small number of oceanfront home sites built on the coastal bluffs facing the ocean as well as a small residential area containing the streets of 143rd Street to 146th Drive found on the east side of Highway 101. At the border of the Communities of South Beach and Seal Rock is the Development of Makai, a very popular planned subdivision of manufactured and site-built homes set on the east side hills overlooking the coastline. Some of the home sites afford incredible horizon views of the Ona Beach State Park and the oncoming white water surf. The Ona Beach State Park is another superb Oregon State Park Facility geared towards enjoying the many fine outdoor activities found along Beaver Creek and its surrounding beach strand. A boat launch is available on the east side of the park grounds used for launching kayaks/canoes into Beaver Creek. Also, the park offers a trail to the beach plus lovely picnic grounds with a spacious green belt set along the creek.
