The City of Toledo - The City of Siletz

The City of Toledo is located on the Yaquina River about seven miles inland from the ocean and today celebrates its small town charm along its picturesque waterfront setting overlooking the river. The City of Toledo achieved its 100 Year Centennial Anniversary in 2005 and is known for its quaint downtown area thriving with antique and craft shops, art galleries and artist studios, several pioneer and railroad history museums, and a dock area along the Yaquina River. Since the City of Toledo draws on its connection to the Yaquina River, many outdoor activities are available to the community including river fishing and boating on the river. Also, the Olalla Lake Area located a few miles north of the city provides additional outdoor activities including trout fishing on the lake, canoeing/kayaking, lake swimming and picnicking around the waters of the lake. The City of Siletz is located approximately eight miles northeast of the Newport Area and features many riverfront locations set along the Siletz River. The City of Siletz is known for the tribal headquarters location for the Confederated Tribes of Siletz as well as being well-liked for its country based residential properties featuring rural ranches and small farms with acreage.
