The Town of Otter Rock - Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area

From the paved observation lookout available at the Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint, the visitor is rewarded with stunning views pointed 500 feet below towards the sandstone cliffs fronting the Town of Otter Rock and the beach strand stretching south to the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area located in the City of Newport. This vantage point is one of the best places for taking in the beauty of the Oregon Coast from high above on Cape Foulweather and is a favorite stopping point for local residents and tourists journeying along the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. Positioned on the cliffs found north of the Town of Otter Rock are two planned developments known as Seacrest and the Inn at Otter Crest accessible from a driveway connected to the Otter Crest Loop Road. The Seacrest Development is a nice community offering individual home sites oriented towards the ocean and the rock formation of Gull Rock. Community amenities include a gated entry, a clubhouse building set up for hosting neighborhood events and a tennis court facility with indoor lighting. The Inn at Otter Crest is a condominium development offering many resort amenities including an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts, beach access, dining and conference room facilities, a recreation center and guest laundry, property management services for vacation rentals, and a nature trail to the Town of Otter Rock. The Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area is an Oregon State Park sited on the cliffs surrounding the Town of Otter Rock. The park grounds are designed with wonderful areas for picnicking plus a stairwell leading to the beach strand of Beverly Beach and a popular surfing spot.
