Otter Crest Loop Road - Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint
One of Lincoln County’s designated scenic drives, the Otter Crest Loop Road traverses one-way southward from the Rocky Creek Area on its north end, passing by the Community of Miroco, and then climbing up along the cliffs of the Otter Crest Area to the top of Cape Foulweather. The road interconnects with the parking lot situated at the Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint and then proceeds southward down the coastline to the Town of Otter Rock. Besides supporting both vehicle and pedestrian uses, the Otter Crest Loop Road is a part of the Oregon Coast Bike Route allowing bicycle enthusiasts to enjoy the same viewpoints overlooking the beautiful coastline scenery. The Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint is another Oregon State Park set on the top of Cape Foulweather rising 500 feet above sea level. The viewpoint offers amazing scenery of the sandstone cliffs fronting the Town of Otter Rock as well as a different vantage point for observing gray whales swimming in the waters below. Also, the park contains the privately owned Lookout Observatory and Gift Store admired for its unique coastal merchandise and books.
