North Aerial Guide Overview - Tour Two
South Lincoln City

South Lincoln City features two distinctive neighborhood districts, one known as Nelscott and the other one known as Taft. These historical neighborhoods were part of the original five towns/cities that were combined together to form the City of Lincoln City. Nelscott is best known for its small boutique retail shopping areas and its quaint residential neighborhoods overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Nelscott Area features a general public beach access point and a community area for restrooms and parking. The Taft Area is located on the south end of South Lincoln City. The area features two Lincoln City Park Areas, one called Taft Waterfront Park and the other known as Siletz Bay Park. The Taft District has recently gone through a modernization program to update its City Park facilities and improve the flow of traffic visiting the area. The Taft Waterfront Park overlooks the mouth of the Siletz Bay and the Siletz Bay in general, and provides a variety of “On the Beach” activities including crabbing, pier fishing, beachcombing, sand castle building and wildlife viewing. The Taft Area is home to many beachside activities and serves as a prime spectator location for enjoying the July Fourth Holiday Fireworks. The beach area wraps around in a right angle north and heads towards Roads End. The Taft Area features small city neighborhoods overlooking the ocean and includes the wonderful condominium development at the Inn at Spanish Head. The Inn at Spanish Head is built into the cliff and features one of the premiere locations to watch sunsets and enjoy the scenery of the white water surf.
