Gleneden Beach
The Gleneden Beach Area is noted for its quaint neighborhoods and its wonderful planned unit developments set along the Pacific Ocean. Many of the residential developments are situated between the Pacific Ocean and Highway 101, providing access to miles of sandy beach and white water surf, and yet being easily accessible to the main coastal roadway system. The Gleneden Beach Residential Community features a variety of county neighborhoods, several planned housing and condominium developments, and a minimal amount of commercial and business development. The majority of the business development is located on Gleneden Beach Loop Road, a roadway located on the west side of Highway 101. Gleneden Beach Loop Road connects on both ends to Highway 101 and runs parallel (north to south) with Highway 101. The north end of Gleneden Beach Loop Road connects to the access points for the Clubhouse at the Salishan Golf Links and also to the roadway access to the security gatehouse for the Salishan Leasehold. The south end of Gleneden Beach Loop Road includes the fire station for the local fire district authority and also connects to the road that heads west out to the Gleneden Beach State Recreation Park. Gleneden Beach Loop Road is home to many of the community’s support and business services including the post office, the local water and sewer authority, several professional office buildings, a restaurant and entertainment hall and a coastal nursery. Gleneden Beach Loop Road is the main street used during the very popular July 4th Holiday Parade, one Gleneden Beach’s main attractions. The Siletz Bay State Airport is an unattended airport available for recreational use airplanes. The airport facility includes the runway (17/35), outdoor phone facilities and a small area of hangar storage.
