USFS Tillicum Beach Campground - The Community Area of San Marine
The USFS Tillicum Beach Campground is located at the north end of the Yachats Community Area on the west side of the highway. The U.S. Forest Service manages the campground as part of the Siuslaw National Forest. A portion of the campground is open for year round use with another section open during the summer season only. Key campground amenities include 60 camping sites, piped drinking water, flush toilet facilities, fire rings and picnic tables, and access to the beach strand of Tillicum Beach. Across from the campground on the east side of Highway 101 is the Angell Job Corp Center, a part of the Job Corp Organization. The Center is part of a federally funded program setup to provide job training and education services to disadvantaged youth. The Community Area of San Marine is a small residential area featuring home sites developed on both sides of Highway 101 along with providing several access points to the beach. Also, the community offers nice vantage points of the lush forests thriving in the nearby Siuslaw National Forest.
