Heceta Head Lighthouse Station - Heceta Head Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast

The Heceta Head Lighthouse is the top attraction found at the Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint, an Oregon State Park well-liked for its fascinating Points of Interest. A park trail is available leading up to the lighthouse station located on the western face of Heceta Head. During select times of the year, interpretive tours covering the history of the lighthouse station in addition to exploring the lantern room of the lighthouse are offered to visitors coming to the park. The Heceta Head Lighthouse includes the tower rising 56 feet above the ground plus the workroom and two oil houses, now all listed on the National Register of Historic Places in November of 1978. An observation viewpoint is available offering striking seascapes of the surrounding coastline as well as of the abundant wildlife living on or near the offshore rocks of Heceta Head. The park’s other famous building is the dwelling used by the former Assistant Lightkeepers, now a part of the overnight lodging property known as the Heceta Head Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast.
