The Historic Tenmile Creek Bridge - Tokatee Klootchman State Natural Site

The Tenmile Creek Community Area includes the historic Tenmile Creek Bridge completed in 1931, another architectural marvel created by Conde B. McCullough, Oregon’s Master Bridge Designer. Located south of the bridge is the Stonefield Beach State Recreation Site, an Oregon State Day Use Park providing parking near the beach dunes plus access to the nice beach strand fronting the Tenmile Creek Estuary. Further inland, the Tenmile Creek Water Basin is home to the Audubon’s Tenmile Creek Sanctuary, an important habitat area protecting several threatened and endangered species depending on old growth forests or wild running creeks for their survival including the Marbled Murrelet, the Spotted Owl and several fish species. Heading south, Highway 101 arrives at the Tokatee Klootchman State Natural Site, an Oregon State Park offering roadside parking overlooking the crashing surf and access to the beach areas set below the ocean bluffs.
