Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint - Bob Creek Wayside

From the Cummins Creek Area, the southbound course of the Highway 101 travels along the Lane County Coastline and then arrives at the Strawberry Hill Picnic Area, another park site located on the west side of the highway contained within the Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint. The park features picnic tables with vantage points of the cliff-rimmed pocket beaches found on both ends of the headland. Also, the park is an excellent spot for observing Harbors Seals in the wild hauling out on the rocky islets just offshore. Heading further south, Highway 101 travels along the sea-battered coastline near Gwynn Knoll, a wind-swept mound protruding out into the ocean. Just south of the knoll is the Bob Creek Wayside, the southernmost park site located within the Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint. The park is named after Bob Creek, a creek draining into the ocean on the south side of Gwynn Knoll. The Bob Creek Wayside is a popular stopping point for sunsets, seaside picnicking, agate hunting and tide pool exploration. Continuing southward, Highway 101 encounters the roadside turnout at Brays Point, a captivating spot for taking in the crashing surf and the splendor of the amazing natural scenery found along the Oregon Coast.
