The City of Newport - North Agate Beach Community Area

Heading south on Highway 101, the Moolack Beach Area converges on the north boundary line for the City of Newport Oregon and the start of the North Agate Beach Community Area. This area includes generally the residential developments located in between Moolack Beach and Yaquina Head. Upon entering the City of Newport, there are several residential developments located near NW 68TH Street, one of the public access points for reaching the sandy beach areas north of Yaquina Head. The NW 68th Street Beach Access includes a small parking area and a pathway to the beach. Heading south on the beach affords an inviting viewpoint of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Promontory. North Beach Estates is a community sited on the west side and features a community trail that leads south from the neighborhood and connects to the NW 68th beach access. The other neighborhood is Shore Pine Hills, a community of residential homes located on the east side of Highway 101. Further south is the Outdoor Resorts Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort featuring a four-season resort facility with many amenities including its own beach access. There are several city neighborhoods surrounding the Yaquina Head Area on the east side of Highway 101 along with the gated development of Longview Hills. Also, the North Agate Beach Community includes residential areas north of Yaquina Head featuring a variety of housing options and some home sites with views of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, the tallest on the Oregon Coast.
