The Community of South Beach - Ona Beach State Park

Heading south from the Lost Creek Area, the southern portion of the Community of South Beach encompasses several additional neighborhood areas and the transition point to the Community of Seal Rock. The first neighborhood area is situated between Lost Creek to the north and Tracy Creek to the south. This neighborhood area consists of a small number of ocean front homes located on the west side of the highway as well as several streets sited on the east side of Highway 101 within 143rd Street and 146Th Drive. The final subdivision within the Community of South Beach is the Development of Makai, a very popular residential area set in the hillside overlooking the Ona Beach State Park Area. The Makai Development is accessible from Highway 101 on the east side of the highway, just to the north of Beaver Creek. The Makai Development is a non-gated development and offers individual home sites. Some of the home sites afford incredible horizon views of the Ona Beach State Park and the white water surf surrounding the coastline. The Ona Beach State Park is another wonderful Oregon State Park Facility geared towards enjoying the many outdoor activities found on the Oregon Coast. A boat launch is available for launching kayaks and canoes on Beaver Creek. Also, the park offers a trail to the beach plus lovely picnic grounds with a spacious green belt set along the creek. Highway 101 then proceeds south to the wonderful Communities of Seal Rock and Waldport.
