The Community of South Beach - The Development of Surfland
Situated along the coastal bluffs found in the Community of South Beach, the Development of Surfland offers a residential neighborhood located on the west side of Highway 101, near the Newport Municipal Airport. The Surfland Development features several streets that run along the ocean-facing bluffs as well as several streets set on the interior affording a treed setting of coastal pines. Access to the community is available from a non-gated entrance into the neighborhood from Highway 101. The community is made up of individual home sites affording different view amenities as well as privacy features. The Surfland Community offers a nature trail that leads down to the beach sands of South Beach. The nature trail is centrally located to the community and winds its way through coastal pines until it reaches the beach area. The neighboring community to the south of the development is known as Pacific Shores. A recreation area is located in between the two communities and is accessible to members of both subdivisions. The recreation area provides beach access to South Beach plus picnic areas for enjoying the white water surf. The Development of Surfland is a popular neighborhood location due to its proximity to the Greater Newport Area and its many available merchant and community services.
