South Beach Petrified Forest - Ocean Ridge Development
The South Beach area includes access to Neskowin Beach and features a rare attraction within the Central Oregon Coast. At the south end of the beach, an ancient petrified forest remains along the water’s edge. The petrified tree stumps are exposed during certain tidal conditions and are believed to be over 2,000 years old. As many as 100 stumps may be visible, providing an unusual remembrance of ancient geological episodes that occurred on the Oregon Coast. The southern most development in Neskowin is called Ocean Ridge. The development is accessed through the same South Beach Gate off Highway 101. The development features homesites on the hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Proposal Rock. Ocean Ridge showcases another Neskowin neighborhood that offers wonderful ocean views, while still maintaining harmony with its natural surroundings.
