Nestucca Spit - Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge

From the Pacific City Area, the beach strand heads south past the Bob Straub State Park and ends at the Nestucca Spit. The Nestucca Spit is the opening where the Nestucca River System meets the Pacific Ocean and features miles of unspoiled sand dune formations. The Community of Neskowin is located on the south side of the Nestucca Spit. One of the area’s natural attractions is the Nestucca Bay Natural Wildlife Refuge. This refuge harbors many species of geese and provides safe haven for waterfowl, shorebirds and other animals. The refuge features many habitats including green pastures, riparian wetlands, salt marshes and open meadows.
