Cape Meares to Cape Meares Lighthouse
At the north end of the Three Capes Scenic Drive is Cape Meares and the site of the stout Cape Meares Lighthouse. The Cape Meares Lighthouse is the smallest lighthouse found on the Oregon Coast standing at 38 feet tall. While the navigational functionality of the lighthouse has been changed to an automated beacon system located nearby, the lighthouse has been restored and is now one of the main attractions available at the Oregon State Park known as the Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint. Alongside the State Park is the Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge, established to protect one of the last remnants of coastal old growth forest. The area is superb for picnics, lighthouse tours and outdoor relaxation.
