North Aerial Guide Overview - Tour Four
City of Depoe Bay - Northpoint Neighborhoods

The southern edge of the Northpoint Headland is comprised of weathered sandstone formations and jagged basalt rocks, providing the backdrop to one of Depoe Bay’s most beloved scenic attractions. Several residential and commercial properties have been built on the bluff taking advantage of the southern views overlooking Depoe Bay and its downtown center. Nighttime views of the city lights are especially appealing from the bluff. The Harbor Condominiums are sited along the bluff line and feature a three-story building with individual condominium units that offer excellent ocean views and convenient access to the downtown center. The Harbor Condominiums offer such amenities as gas fireplaces, in-unit laundry facilities, garage/storage space, and ocean view decks. The area below the bluff line features several small-secluded beaches, the once popular Arch Rock formation and the rocky basalt point of the headland. Under the right swell conditions; the rocky point is overtaken by crashing waves that provide spectators with an amazing show of water action splashing over the rocks. Other times during the year, the rocky point serves as a place to enjoy whale watching or birding, especially fantastic when pelicans are soaring over the waters off Depoe Bay. The Northpoint Area blends into the main downtown section of Depoe Bay, an area characterized by rugged basalt cliffs and the famous seawall that runs along the ocean. The seawall is popular throughout all hours of the day, and one of the best places on the Oregon Coast to watch sunsets. The seawall overlooks the Spouting Horn, a blowhole shooting water geysers high into the air during rough seas conditions. And on rare occasions, seawall spectators may find themselves starring at gray whales entering into the bay. A magical moment is created when a baby whale swims along the water’s edge of Depoe Bay, with its watchful mother circling in the distance.
