City of Depoe Bay - Northpoint Neighborhoods
Besides the condominium developments located within the Northpoint Area, the neighborhood features both Highway 101 commercial development and residential housing lots offering a variety of ocean views throughout the community. Pirate Cove separates the WorldMark Resort Area to the north and the real estate developments within the Northpoint Headland to the south. The off shore rocks located at the north end of Pirate Cove provides a habitat for several seabird species to breed and nest during the seasonal months of spring and summer. The nesting areas on the rocks are wildlife protected and offer bird watching enthusiasts a great opportunity to observe this amazing spectacle of nature, highlighted by some species found only along the coast. Especially entertaining, are the Seagull Chicks that develop playfully on the rocks as well as their constant cajoling of their parents for more food. Also, Pirate Cove provides a truly unique ocean view backdrop for some of the residential home sites situated along the Northpoint Headland. The Northpoint Headland features a combination of oceanfront development, mostly residential and commercial lodging properties, as well as interior home sites with various ocean views. On the eastern edge of Northpoint, the city neighborhood blends in with the commercial development set along Highway 101. This neighborhood blending provides complimentary access to merchant services and retail services located nearby, some of which are a short jaunt away. Such services include the Depoe Bay Post Office, a local gas station and convenience store, and several restaurants and coffee houses.
