North Aerial Guide Overview - Tour Four
City of Depoe Bay

While the City of Depoe Bay attracts many visitors during the day, the city also offers fantastic options for living on or near the ocean. The main downtown section thrives all year round and draws many visitors to the area. The downtown experience features a variety of seaside activities including souvenir shopping, snacking on salt water taffy, fudge or ice cream, enjoying a homemade bowl of chowder or indulging in the locally caught fresh seafood, all with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop. The downtown seawall that runs along the rocks offers the opportunity to stroll along the ocean cliffs, gaze for whale spouts or relax over one of Oregon’s famous sunsets. The harbor area is both beautiful and functional, serving fisherman and charter boat operators, and also housing the U.S. Coast Guard Station Depoe Bay. The Depoe Bay Highway 101 Bridge overlooks the harbor area and the ocean channel, and is one of Depoe Bay’s most photographed Points of Interest. Besides the downtown commercial section, several residential areas are located throughout the city borders and include such neighborhoods as Northpoint, Downtown/East on Collins, Southpoint and the award winning Development of Little Whale Cove. The Northpoint Area is located north of downtown, while Southpoint and Little Whale Cove are located south of the Depoe Bay Highway 101 Bridge. East on Collins describes the residential communities located to the east of the main downtown area as well as the area east of the Depoe Bay Harbor. While the City of Depoe Bay thrives throughout the day, the real allure of this city is the solitude that can be found at dusk and dawn, or at night with the sounds of the breaking waves as your ocean symphony.
